TOP: Prices of gas increased but stayed below three dollars

The gas prices in the US have increased over a two-week period but on an average it stayed below the mark of three dollars per gallon.

According to the latest survey done on the continental cities of the United States on Friday, the average price, nationally of a gallon of self-serve unleaded gasoline was at 2.99 dollars which got increased by 7.6 cents from the last survey done two weeks earlier.

These facts were provided by Trilby Lundberg, the publisher of the survey. There had been a slight retraction of the steady rise in oil prices which made the prices higher but not that much as it could have been.

Compared to the last year the amount of premium paid by the drivers at the pump is quite an amount. In the previous year the price of one gallon of gas would have cost thirty nine cents less. Lundberg went on to say that the amount is just a pinch to customers.

As factors that affect the prices of gas like supply did not account for a factor prices of crude oil will continue to be the biggest pointer of gas prices. There is no dearth of supply of gas in the United States of America. She further stated that even if the crude oil prices move a bit the prices of gasoline at this point in time can move quickly.

The survey done by Lundberg went to cover as many as two thousand five hundred gas stations. The highest average gasoline prices in the cities of continental United States were seen in California's San Francisco at 3.29 dollars per gallon. The lowest price was recorded in Colorado's Denver at 2.68 dollars per gallon.
