(RTTNews) - The price of gold was little changed Tuesday morning amid a mixed U.S. dollar.
Gold for February delivery, the most actively traded contract, edged up $0.60 to $1,386.70 an ounce. Yesterday, gold edged up 0.50% amid lingering worries over the euro zone sovereign debt situation.
Holdings of SPDR Gold Trust, the world's largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, were unchanged at 1,298.94 tons.
Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar remained steady near its 3-week high versus the euro and ticking higher towards a fresh 3-month high against sterling. The buck was extending losses versus the Swiss Franc, while struggling for direction against the yen.
Elsewhere, the price of silver moved down, while platinum ticked higher in morning deals.
