HONG KONG, Dec 23, 2010 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Hong Kong stocks fell on Thursday, with the weighted index losing 142.22 points, or 0.62 percent, to end at 22,902.97.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index opened up 94.39 points at 2,3088. 60 and traded between 22,867.93 and 23,151.38 during the day's session.
Turnover decreased to 43.98 billion HK dollars from Wednesday's 54.20 billion HK dollars.
The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index went down 94.78 points, or 0.75 percent, to close at 12,516.52.
All four sub-indices lost ground. The Commerce and Industry sub- index down 0.41 percent, the Finance shed 0.79 percent, the Properties, 0.66 percent, and the Utilities, 0.55 percent.
Heavyweight HSBC dipped 0.31 percent to 79.95 HK dollars, and China Mobile shed 0.52 percent to 76.75 HK dollars.
