Gasoline prices are ending the year on a high note. And one industry analyst said that if past gas price trends repeat themselves, $4-a-gallon gas may occur in 2011.
"If history holds true, we'll see $4-a-gallon gas," said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com.
After a pre-Christmas jump above the $3-a-gallon mark, gas prices rose again this week, reaching $3.17 or more for a gallon of unleaded regular at some convenience stores and gas stations.
The new gas prices are the highest they've been since October 2008, AAA Hoosier Motor Club said Tuesday.
