NEW YORK, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices rose above $89 per barrel in New York Friday morning despite a stronger dollar.
With the dollar index up 0.31 percent, February delivery crude oil added 78 cents on the New York Mercantile Exchange to $89.08 per barrel. Heating oil prices lost 0.27 cents to $2.5085. Reformulated blendstock gasoline prices rose 0.2 cents to $2.445 per gallon.
Henry Hub natural gas prices gained 0.4 cents to $4.438 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline rose to $3.083 per gallon from Thursday's $3.079, AAA said.
