RTRS: U.S. crude extends modest rise after GDP data
 
NEW YORK Jan 28 (Reuters) - U.S. crude oil futures extended a modest rise on Friday after government data showed the economy grew at a 3.2 percent annualized rate in fourth quarter 2010, below expectations, but with the rise in consumer spending fueling the growth the biggest gain in more than four years.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, March crude CLH1 rose 16 cents, or 0.19 percent, to $85.80 a barrel at 8:38 a.m. EST (1338 GMT), trading from $85.11 to $86.05.
