The volatile nickel price has kept most spot buyers out of the U.S. market this past week, traders told AMM.
Three-month nickel closed official trade at $27,875 per tonne Friday, down 0.5 percent from the previous day's close at $28,025 per tonne. The metal reached as high as $28,705 per tonne earlier in the week.
However, it is still significantly higher than the $25,200-per-tonne level recorded at the beginning of the year.
