SYDNEY (MarketWatch) -- Japanese shares edged lower in early trading on Friday, with the Nikkei Stock Average (JP:NI225 10,843, +6.16, +0.06%) down 0.1% at 10,824.67. The dollar bought 83.29 yen, compared to ¥83.32 in late North American trading on Thursday. Heiwa Real Estate Co. Ltd. (JP:8803 249.00, -15.00, -5.68%) shares fell 7.8% after the firm said that will raise up to ¥13.42 billion via a share offer, Dow Jones Newswires reported. Honda Motor Co. (JP:7267 3,710, +15.00, +0.41%) shares edged up 0.3% after a report in the Nikkei that the firm's dollar-denominated fiscal-year net profit will exceed the figure it recorded in fiscal 2007.
