MW: European Central Bank leaves key rate unchanged

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- The European Central Bank on Thursday left its key lending rate unchanged at 1%, a historic low. The decision by the bank's rate-setting Governing Council was widely expected. ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet's monthly news conference is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Eastern.
