RTRS: Dollar falls vs yen after poor U.S. economic data
NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. dollar fell against the yen and the euro pared gains against the dollar on Thursday after the U.S. Labor Department said initial jobless claims rose more than expected last week.
An unexpected decline in U.S. retail sales for July also also weighed on the dollar.
The euro was last at $1.4288, from $1.4310 before the data's release. Against the yen, the dollar fell to 95.71 from 96.25 yen previous to the data's release.
