NEW YORK, Aug. 14 (UPI) --
Crude oil prices rose overnight on the New York Mercantile Exchange Friday, but have not broken out of a holding pattern near $71 per barrel.
Crude oil has hovered in the vicinity of $70 per barrel since late July. On Friday, prices rose 18 cents to $70.70 per barrel.
Heating oil prices rose 0.0161 cents to $1.9189 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline prices rose 0.0143 cents to $2.0335 per gallon. Natural gas rose 0.063 cents to $3.299 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price for unleaded gasoline was $2.647 a gallon Friday, unchanged from Thursday, AAA said.
