MW : Gold futures pare losses after Philly Fed report
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures Thursday pared their losses but remained lower after the Philadelphia Fed said its survey of manufacturers showed business was improving in August, the first increase in nearly a year, and the Conference Board said its index of leading indicators rose 0.6% in July. Gold for December delivery was down $3, or 0.3%, at $941.80 an ounce. Before the mid-morning data was released, gold had traded at $940.80. Copper for September delivery struggled to hold to gains, rising 0.3% or less than a penny, at $2.77 a pound
