NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks on Friday turned solidly lower, with profit-taking and declining oil prices leading energy shares lower, offsetting cheer that came after Microsoft Corp. (MSFT 28.48, +1.89, +7.11%) reported results topping expectations. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDU 10,001, -80.64, -0.80%) shed 99.84 points to 9,981.47. The S&P 500 Index (SPX 1,083, -9.45, -0.87%) fell 11.70 points to 1,081.21. The Nasdaq Composite (COMP 2,164, -1.00, -0.05%) declined 5.73 points to 2,159.56.
