AFP; US zinc premiums ease despite rising metal prices
 
Metal Bulletin reported that US spot zinc premiums are easing slightly as consumers remain unwilling to jump into the market at current elevated pricing levels.

3 month zinc spiked during the past week, closing second ring trade on the London Metal Exchange at USD 2,290.50 per tonne up 15.1% from USD 1,989.50 per tonne on October 15th 2009.

However, US spot zinc premiums have softened to a range of 2.5 cents to 3.5 cents per pound from 3 tonne 3.5 cents per pound, as US consumers many who haven't seen any meaningful improvement in.
