MW: U.S. construction outlays rise 0.8% in September

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Outlays on U.S. construction projects rose 0.8% on a seasonally adjusted basis in September, the Commerce Department estimated Monday. Private residential spending rose 3.9%, while private nonresidential spending fell 1.8%. Public spending rose 1.3%. Outlays are down 13% compared with a year earlier.
