LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European shares pulled back from early highs on Friday, ahead of U.S. jobs data, with construction stocks declining after Lafarge (FR:LG 55.76, -2.23, -3.85%) , down 3.8%, and Wienerberger, down 6.1%, reported earnings. Telecoms were also lower with Vodafone Group (UK:VOD 136.15, -1.35, -0.98%) shares down 1.1%. Still, it wasn't all bad news on the earnings front, with British Airways (UK:BAY 197.90, +11.60, +6.23%) shares up 6.6% and Royal Bank of Scotland (UK:RBS 37.56, +2.33, +6.62%) shares up 7.5%. The German DAX index declined 0.3% to 5,465.86, the French CAC-40 index lost 0.3% to 3,696.58 and the U.K. index traded flat at 5,127.83. |
