MW: Treasurys retain gains after bank data, confidence

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Treasurys held to gains Tuesday after a mid-morning pair of reports showed a better-than-expected rise in consumer confidence but an increasing number of distressed banks. Yields on the 10-year (UST10Y 3.33, -0.01, -0.39%) Treasury were off 2 basis points at 3.332%. Yields on the 2-year note (UST2YR 0.74, 0.00, 0.00%) sank 5 basis points to 0.75%.
