NEW DELHI: Gold futures price fell by Rs 32 or 0.19 percent at the Multi Commodity Exchange on Thursday as traders indulged in reducing their positions on the back of weakening global trend.
Gold for far-month February contract fell by Rs 32 or 0.19 percent to Rs 17,142 per ten gram with an open interest of 16,274 lots.
The metal for delivery in far April contract also traded lower by Rs 31 or 0.18 percent to Rs 17,170 per ten gram in 2,947 lots.
Marketmen said fresh selling by traders in tandem with a weakening global trend mainly led to fall in gold prices at futures market.
Meanwhile, gold dropped 0.4 percent to USD 1,133.10 an ounce in Asian markets.
