NEW DELHI: Gold prices were steady at Rs 17,120 per ten grams in the bullion market here on Monday amid global prices remaining little changed from their last close.
Standard gold and ornaments inched up by Rs 10 each to Rs 17,120 and Rs 16,970 per ten gram respectively. Sovereign held steady at Rs 14,000 per piece of eight gram.
Silver ready rose by Rs 520 to Rs 27,800 per kg on increased offtake by industrial users while weekly-based delivery lacked necessary buying support and fell by Rs 320 to Rs 27,360 per kg. Silver coins also gained Rs 100 to Rs 33,500 for buying and Rs 33 ,600 for selling of 100 pieces.
Gold remained steady in world markets even as alternate investment option dollar dipped against euro on expectations that the US currency could bounce back to its high levels. However, the metal rose in the Asian region by $6.49 to $1,119.69 an ounce. - PTI
