RTTN: Pound Plunges To 1-week Low Against Swiss Franc
(RTTNews) - UK's sterling extended its recent downtrend versus its major rivals ahead of commencing the North American session on Monday.
The pound plummeted to a weekly low of 1.6731 against the franc by 7:45 am ET, down 0.6 percent from Friday's close of 1.684. The pound-franc pair is presently worth 1.6753 and the next downside target for the pair is seen around the 1.67 level.
The sterling also slumped to a 5-day low of 0.893 against the European currency by this time and this may be compared to last week's close of 0.8882. The euro-pound pair is presently trading at 0.892 with 0.897 seen as the next target level.
Testing last week's fresh 2-month low, the pound declined to 1.608 against the US dollar by 7:45 am ET and the next downside target for the cable is seen around the 1.603 level. At Friday's close, the pound-buck pair was quoted at 1.6155.
