Luanda - The 155th extraordinary ministerial conference of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) gathered in Luanda announced that it envisages the continuity in the year 2010 of the regular supply of oil to the consumption market, with balanced prices in accordance to its evolution. According to the recommendations and conclusions from the meeting held on Tuesday, OPEC, that also passed the new budget for the organisation for 2010, also pledged through its secretariat to monitor the consumption market to prevent possible alterations in oil production quota. The meeting, that also served to assess and foresee the perspectives in the oil market for 2010, had as observers Baherein, Egypt, Indonesia and Aman. OPEC’s secretary-general, Abdullah Al Badri, considered as excellent the Angolan presidency of the organisation, having said during a press conference that if the statute allowed he would wish one more mandate for Angola. Angola took the annual presidency of the OPEC on 17 December 2008, in the Algerian city of Oran. OPEC is responsible of 79 per cent of oil reserves and has a great influence in the price of this product at international level. OPEC member countries are Angola, Algeria, Libya, Venezuela, Nigeria, Equator, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
