PT: Copper, nickel rise on Asian cues, spot demand
 
New Delhi, Dec 28 (PTI) Select base metals, copper and nickel, strengthened at the wholesale non-ferrous metal market today on the back of firming trend in the other Asian markets.

Pick up in demand from consuming industries also influenced prices of the metal .

Sentiments were mostly buoyed by the firming trend in Asian trading on expectations of pick up in demand for base metals following signs of recovery in global economy.

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap strengthened by Rs 5 each to Rs 353, Rs 374 and Rs 333 per kg respectively.

Nickel plate also showed strength and traded Rs 20 higher at Rs 940-1052 per kg respectively, while lead ingot gained Rs 2 at Rs 129 per kg.
