NEW YORK, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices remained close to $79 per barrel Tuesday morning with winter settled in and trading light between major holidays.
In overnight trading, the price of light, sweet crude added 8 cents to $78.85 per barrel, a five-week high. Heating oil prices rose 0.0194 cents to $2.0929 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline prices rose 0.0193 cents to $2.0377 per gallon. Natural gas prices shifted lower, dropping 0.016 cents to $5.974 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline rose to $2.608 per gallon Tuesday, up from Monday's $2.603, AAA said.
