NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - U.S. stocks struggled and churned higher Tuesday after data pointing to a rise in consumer confidence. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDU 10,228, +30.84, +0.30%) rose 33.94 points to 10,230.80. The S&P 500 Index (SPX 1,097, +0.27, +0.03%) climbed less than 1 point to 1,097.63. The Nasdaq Composite Index (COMP 2,212, +0.77, +0.04%) added 1.36 points to 2,212.16. |
