SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch)-- Canada's main stock benchmark reversed its losses to gain 0.6% or 64 points to a level of 11,192. Earlier in trading, the benchmark index reached a low not seen since November. The S&P/TSX (CA:ISPTX 11,223, +94.36, +0.85%) composite index followed a rebound in the U.S. stock market, and its metals and mining sector gained even as the price of gold futures finished lower on Friday. Shares of Goldcorp (CA:G 38.19, +2.61, +7.34%) jumped 6.2%, shares of Yamana Gold (CA:YRI 11.21, +0.63, +5.95%) rose 4.19% and shares of Iamgold (CA:IMG 14.87, +0.72, +5.09%) gained 4.7%. Bombardier advanced 3.8%.
