ST: Chinese copper imports in January fall by 20pct MoM
Preliminary data from the General Administration of Customs showed that China's imports of unwrought copper and semi finished products fell almost 21% in January from December despite strong domestic prices.
Imports of unwrought aluminium fell by almost 17% to 97,633 tonnes. Imports of copper and aluminium scrap slipped by around fifth while exports of unwrought aluminium fell 30 percent to 45,494 tonnes.
