BG: R.I. gasoline prices fall for 4th straight week
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Gas prices in Rhode Island slipped one cent this week, marking the fourth straight week the price has fallen, according to AAA Southern New England.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.709 at the self-service pump, according to AAA's weekly survey.
The price has fallen seven cents over the last four weeks.
Despite the recent drop in prices, Rhode Islanders are still paying 76 cents per gallon more than they were at this time last year.
In its survey, AAA found a 25-cent range in prices, from a low of $2.599 to a high of $2.849 for regular unleaded.
The average price for mid-grade gasoline is $2.849, while the average for premium is $2.959. Diesel is $2.959.
