Indian rupee edged lower against the greenback in morning trade today on fresh capital outflows by foreign funds and the US currency`s gains against other Asian currencies.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index dropped 0.119% to 80.41. It touched a high of 80.57 and a low of 80.41 after opening at 80.51. (23.45 ET)
Rupee fell 0.04% against USD to Rs 46.23. (10.15 a.m.). On Monday, the rupee closed lower at 46.21/22.
The Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex fell by 58.14 points or 0.34% to 16,178.91 points in the opening trade today.
