MW: Energy stocks move up slightly ahead of supply data
Analysts neutral on Chevron after oil giant's Wall Street meeting

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Energy stocks posted slim gains Wednesday ahead of the latest U.S. inventory update from the Energy Information Administration, after the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries raised its outlook for world oil demand.
Analysts surveyed by Platts expect an increase of 2.1 million barrels for crude oil as well as a drop of 338,000 barrels in gasoline supplies for last week. The American Petroleum Insitute reported updated figures late Tuesday. See Futures Movers for more on U.S. stockpiles.
