KATHMANDU: Cadres of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal have staged demonstration on the premises of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) office at Babarmahal Wednesday morning, protesting the state-owned company’s recent decision to hike prices of petroleum products.
The RPP Nepal cadres lead by party chairman Kamal Thapa have picketed the office, bringing day-to-day works of the office to a halt. Security personnel have been heavily deployed in the office areas. No untoward incident has been reported as yet.
A string of protests has ensued after the NOC decided to increase the prices of kerosene, petrol, diesel and cooking gas on Monday. A day earlier, students of Pashupati Multiple Campus in Chabahil had taken to the street and torched a government office vehicle demanding that the government roll back the price hike.
