NEW YORK (AP) — The Energy Department on Wednesday is expected to report a 2.4 million-barrel decline in crude oil supplies for the week ended Dec. 17, according to a survey by Platts, the energy information arm of McGraw-Hill Cos.
The Energy Information Administration releases its weekly report at 10:30 a.m. EST.
Analysts expect gasoline stockpiles to grow by 1.75 million barrels, supplies of distillates — which include diesel and heating oil — to shrink by 300,000 barrels and refinery utilization to dip by 0.15 percentage point to 87.85 percent.
A reading above or below estimates can influence market trading.
