RTTN: Dollar Up Ahead Of U.S. Weekly Jobless Claims, Q4 Non-farm Productivity Data
(RTTNews) - The US Labor Department will release its customary jobless claims report for the week ended January 29th at 8:30 a.m. ET. Economists expect a decline in claims to 425,000.
The Labor Department is also scheduled to release its preliminary fourth quarter non-farm productivity and unit labor costs at 8:30 AM ET. Economists expect productivity growth to come in at 2.3 percent and unit labor costs at 0.2 percent for the quarter.
Ahead of the data, the US dollar remained higher against its major counterparts. The greenback is presently quoted at 1.3760 against the euro, 0.9450 versus the Swiss franc, 81.80 against the yen and 1.6210 against the pound.
