Rupee’s steady performance despite unsupportive cues is surprising, says CNBC-TV18’s Latha Venkatesh. “There is so much negative news. We saw goodish bit of FII out flow. Then we saw crude going to USD 93 per barrel. The spate of bad news is not small and yet we are seeing rupee in a steady mode.”
She further adds, "We know that fourth quarter does have lot of currency flows — remittances come in, and exporters bring in their cash and to be fair, exporters are doing well. So there are countervailing factors but the absolute steady rupee performance in spite of global dollar strength and reverses in stock markets, is clearly a bit surprising."
